the ballad of bloodthirsty jim

©2005 Anything Times Zero

Yo ho ho

[Verse]
Jim was a pirate lived up to his name
His knife and his cutlass the tools of his trade
He'd slice your head open, make your neck grin
Perhaps that's why he's known as Bloodthirsty Jim.

[Verse]
He'd drink fifteen ales then he'd drink fifteen more
He'd steal all your money and spend it on whores
He left after fights without nary a scratch
And leave you for dead lying flat on your back

[Chorus (group sing)]
Bloodthirsty Jim had a bloodthirsty soul
Got his first kill in at just eight years old
He'd rather kill you than look at your face
Because he loved the kill just as much as the chase

[Verse]
Jim stole a million gold doubloons a year
But when his first mate Bill took a couple for beer
Jim called him out, fought, and then sailed away
And on the beach of Blood Island poor William lay slain

[Chorus]

[Verse]
William's love Catherine caught wind of the news
And found Jim in a pub drinking gallons of booze
She hid in a corner, cloaked all in black
And when Jim went to leave, shot him twice in the back

[Second Chorus]
Bloodthirsty Jim had a bloodthirsty soul
Got his first kill in at just eight years old
No man could touch him, so few dared to try,
And it was to a woman that Jim had to die

[Repeat Second Chorus]
